SNA Certificate Program: New Bridge Level Launching in July 2018
As you begin planning for School Year 2018-19 and exploring professional development opportunities for your school nutrition teams, please be aware that SNA is launching an additional Level to the Certificate in School Nutrition Program. The SNA Certificate Program helps provide professional growth for over 19,000 school nutrition professionals across the country. The new Level 2 will launch in July 2018 and will serve as a “bridge” between the current Level 1 and Level 2. The goal of this new level, is to help members have a more realistic professional development path. Learn More

“March” Right Into Webinar Wednesdays!
SNA’s Webinar Wednesdays program is “March”ing right along into Part 2 of the three-part Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) series. In partnership with the Food Research & Action Center, Part 2 will focus on how your district can consider implementing CEP, even when the district’s identified student percentage (ISP) is below 60%. Also, later this month, we will explore why more Millennial and GenZ’s are “March”ing to the beat of their own drum by eating less meat and more greens. This webinar will look at the nutritional benefits and hurdles of a plant-based diet, as well as provide ideas for implementing more meatless meals in your cafeteria. Learn More

Put Some Spring in Your STEPS
If you’re not familiar with the STEPS Challenge, SNA’ personal wellness program, made possible with support from Jennie-O Turkey Store, you should give it a try—and March is a good month to start. “Go Lean with Protein,” this month’s challenge, encourages you to swap out proteins like red meat for nuts, beans, turkey or fish. Award yourself three (3) points for every time you choose a lean protein instead of a higher-fat alternative. At the end of the month, be sure to add up your points and enter them online at www.schoolnutrition.org/STEPS—you could win a prize! Learn More
