A Message from Your President-Elect

‘Tis the season to celebrate with family and friends and marvel at all this year has provided. 2016 was a very productive and successful year for SNA and together, we have much to celebrate! As we wind down this year, it is my wish for each of our industry partners and collaborators to enjoy the season of wonder in a manner that promotes peace, joy, rest and relaxation…because you will need that R&R to prepare for all the exciting opportunities that will come our way in 2017!

After you ring in the New Year, join your colleagues and school nutrition professionals from around the country at SNA’s School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC) in Orlando, Fla., beginning January 21. Attendees will explore the theme, "Imagination + Knowledge = INNOVATION." SNIC is your unique opportunity to network with peers, showcase new products and processes, promote strategies for success and launch innovative ideas that drive the school nutrition marketplace. It is also a dynamic environment for exchanging information and ideas for future product development and modification. The keynote speakers promise to inform us, engage us and inspire us to achieve our personal and professional best. I hope to see you in sunny Orlando!

After SNIC, we look forward to connecting with many of you through SNA’s exciting new Virtual Expo 2017. The Expo is designed to bring new products and innovations to the school nutrition marketplace in a manner that will engage operator members in exciting ways. The Expo will enable additional networking opportunities to help create positive solutions for many of the challenges that face school nutrition operators as they work to satisfy their students’ ever-changing taste preferences and dining experiences. The Expo opens January 31 and will continue through April 30.

In closing this final edition of Industry Insider for 2016, I want to say THANK YOU to YOU, our valued industry partners for all you do to support school nutrition programs and personnel. Together, we will continue to make a tremendous difference in the lives of the students we all strive to serve!

Best wishes for a joyous holiday season and a happy and prosperous new year!
