A Message from the Chair of the School Nutrition Foundation
In less than two weeks we will gather for the third Annual Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes. The annual fundraising event began in 2014 to celebrate the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary. The Celebration was so successful that the School Nutrition Foundation Board decided to hold the event annually.

If you are attending SNA’s Legislative Action Conference (LAC), you will want to attend the Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes. The heroes selected for 2016 are: Chris Burkhardt, Sandra Hearn, Jody Houston, Samantha Ingram and Suellen Smith. These individuals, including two school nutrition directors and three managers, embody the commitment and the passion of all SNA members. When we recognize the accomplishments of these extraordinary individuals, we are celebrating the achievements of all SNA members as they enrich not only the schools and school districts, but also the communities, in which they work.

As I write this letter, we have already secured commitments for 304 seats, which surpasses the final total from 2015 of 265 paid attendees, as well as the final total for 2014 of 287 paid attendees. We are pleased to have increased the number of attendees and the total dollars in sponsorship. The total in sponsorships thus far for the 2016 Celebration is more than 50% over the 2015 total and also exceeds the 2014 total. The increase in revenue will allow SNF to offer more support for scholarships for SNA members to enhance their professional development through degree programs, conferences, and workshops.

We hope to see you on Monday, February 29, for the Third Celebration of School Nutrition Heroes!

Sincerely,
Sandra Ford
Chair, School Nutrition Foundation
