Rep. Noem Introduces Bill to Ease Meal Pattern Requirements as SNA Drafts 2014 Issue Paper
U.S. Representative Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) has introduced the Reducing Federal Mandates on School Lunch Act to ease meal pattern requirements. The bill was introduced the same day SNA's Public Policy & Legislation Committee was meeting to draft the SNA's 2014 Legislative Issue Paper, with extensive input from SNA members.

DoSomething.org's Fed Up Campaign Paints an Inaccurate Portrayal of School Meals
Last week, DoSomething.org was expected to release a "report of the true state of school lunch" based on their Fed Up campaign. The campaign asked young people to post photos of their meals, complete a short survey on their impressions of school lunch, and vote either "eat it" or "toss it" on posted photos.
