About Vote for School Lunch 2008 – Presidential Edition
After a hugely successful primaries and caucuses in 2006 and 2007 ‘Vote for School Lunch’ is returning in 2008 for the Presidential Edition.
‘Vote for School Lunch 2008’ is SNA’s National School Lunch Week celebration and gives the nation’s students a chance to vote for their favorite
Your Lunch Choices
Pete Pizza (2006 winner) and Biff Burger (2007 winner) are competing for the Presidency against the 3 winning entries from the 2007 Design a
Candidate Contest: Gloria Grilled Cheese, Larry Lasagna and Petunia Pita Pocket.
Voting will take place at www.VoteForSchoolLunch.org and the site will be available from June 15, 2008. Voting will also take place in classrooms
and cafeteria across the country. See the Vote Toolkit in the tools you can use section for paper ballots and instructions.
The official voting period is from August 1 until the end of National School Lunch Week on October 17 and the winner will be announced on Friday
October 24, 2008.
SNA will be promoting the 5 candidates to students, parents and the media, and helping them to understand the benefits of eating lunch on the National
School Lunch Program.

Prizes for the Top 3 Voting States
This year is the final year for Vote for School Lunch and the official President of School Lunch will be elected by students across the country.
In celebration, the three states that bring in the highest amount of votes will each receive a prize pack. The prize pack includes Emporium Gift
Certificates, a plaque and PR recognition, so be sure that all your students vote this year!

National Vote Results
With a tightly contested race against Patty Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Biff Burger won the 2007 Vote for School Lunch contest with 34% of the vote.

With a landslide 42%, Pete Pizza took victory in the 2006 'Vote for School Lunch' campaign and he is back to compete in the 'Vote for School
Lunch' - Presidential Edition.
